Oostende

Hi,

because French fishermen blocked the ports of Boulogne, Calais and Dunkerque, the Pride of Dover came to Oostende for some berthing trails. Here are the pictures and a few others of the increased TEF activity.

Eurovoyager leaving the port.

Crossing Oleander.

Oleander entering the port.

It had been my intention to watch the Pride of Dover arriving in the port but when I got in Oostende, she was already there. Fortunately, I found a spot that oversees her berth so I could see the fit. It seems to fit well and although there were no lorries loading or unloading I definitely believe it's possible here so P&O could use Oostende in the fishermen decide to strike again.

The "fingers" seem to fit.

Old-fleetmate Oleander behind her.

Oleander finishes loading and prepares to sail for Ramsgate.

Blue Link, the "overzet" as it is called, takes people from one side of the harbour to the other.

Primrose dwarfing a fishing boat while entering the port.

Whilst the Blue Link was discharging her passengers, I could here the pilot of the Pride of Dover and port control chatting on the radio. It was quite interesting to hear what they were on about.

Pride of Dover finally cast her lines to leave at 15:12.

She turned at a "normal" speed and there was plenty of space left.

She leaves the port. Who knows she might come back, although maybe not in her present guise as Pride of Dover. Maybe Trans Europa Ferries will buy her when she is retired from service by P&O. I have my doubts but it was a nice sight in the port.

Oriana

Hi,

Oriana was in Zeebrugge on April 6. The weather unfortunately wasn't as good as it should have been...

Gone past the old wall.

Next call: Oriana again on April 19.

Oceana

Hi,

Oceana opened the Zeebrugge cruise season on April 4th. It was a moody, overcast day unfortunately...

At the quay.

Finally leaving.
